What is the Political Courage Test?

New Jersey Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Pro Choice. However, I am personally pro-life. My position is based in the idea that the federal government has no standing in the health care arena.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
While I understand that one of the basic tenants of the constitution is to "Provide for the common defense." With that in mind, we should have a robust, defensive based military and we can accomplish that even with a 25% cut over four years.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Allowing people to keep more of the money they earn is key to any hope of a vibrant economy.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
No. I would eliminate the Federal Department of Education.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I am pro 2A
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
The government should not be involved in our healthcare. It is not possible to make healthcare "cheaper" by adding an additional layer of red tape, regulations and costs; costs are driven down by competition.
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
I do not believe they should be required to return to their country, but they should be required to apply at any local consulate.
Yes Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
Or as I call it, the 'Re-Legalization" of cannabis.
No Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
No Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
We can support our allies via logistical support. I look forward to the day when we have no troops in the Middle East.
No funding needed for mine. The first would be a Balanced Budget, the second would be to address the debt; not through austerity, but through common sense cuts. The smallest of effort to pay the debt will yield many, many benefits through economic growth, economic growth that will also help pay off the debt by making it smaller relative to our GDP.
